1、晚上在卧室里看(投2.0增益的微晶白幕,感觉太“亮”)亮度够了;
2、我国电视信号(4:3格式)若干年内不会改变,分辨率够了;

Excuse my poor english.
I've bought the XJ-A 240 today in france here, and i love this projector, it's a killer product.
If you find the good settings, it's very good, good colors (cinema mode standard colors, -15 brightness ans +15 contrast), you have a very good product.
I had a sim2 domino D10 before, and i don't regret my choice. The sim 2 is a little bit better but nothing important (contrast a little better).
And 20 000 hours life time yeahhhh, i'm happy, i can use it when i want (always lol)

Nice! Can you tell us if you have seen any rainbows (color wheel artifacts) on the Casio? Did you ever notice them on the Sim2?

Thanks!

Was the green color layer offset by a few pixels on your model?

I have a friend who had the projector too (normal it's so great ^^)!
He had seen artefacts buf few on his projector. So it's possible to have (but it's very rare for him)
I haven't see nothing, no artefact on mine ! And i'm sensible to artefact.
I will try to make picture later let me use my XJ-A240 please lol, it's so good ^^.
No green color layer offset by a few pixels, it's perfect for me.

But if you don't use my settings (cinema/standard) the colors are bad, artificial colors, it's the only setting good possible.

And there is sound on the projector if you need it, i don't need it (i have homecinema system) but it is very useful if you want to use the projector like a tv and you don't have system home cinema like me, it works well (no sound great but it works really and you can hear a program tv without problems for example).
If you have questions, i will try to answer !

Pictures:

The quality is poor because of the htc HD2 cam ...

Cfcmoom, The pictures look great! Is the projector as bright as advertised (2500 lumens)? What size screen are you using? How are movies? Thanks

Since this afternoon i have new settings cinema mode standard and red -10 green 0 blue 50 with brightness 20 contrast +17 and the result is fantastic !
A friend who knows how to calibrate videoprojector was here to help me with the colors.
No it's perfect for me.

The projector is in 2500 lumens but in full mode and the fan is super noisy !! Impossible to use in full mode for home cinema, in eco1 (the normal mode) it's noisy but tolerable it depends if you have a good system home cinema for the movie/game to hide the sound's fan.
In eco2 the sound is low but lumen are much more low but available in a dark room (but you don't have a picture like an jvc hd1 of course lol).
The best image is with eco1 and cinema standard (r=-10,g=0,b=50) and you can see the movie in a room with light (no full light but light)
If you want to have strong light and see the movie you can in full mode but it's super noisy.
You must do a choice !

The size diagonal is 110 in or more like 120 (2,80/3 meters) i don't know exactly.

The movies are great, the games are great... With the good settings.
Of course you will don't have a picture quality like jvc hd100 or video projectors very good but for the price and the life time (20 000 hours) it's incredible for me.
But it's not perfect, the noisy fan in full mode or eco1 tolerable but noisy... It's not perfect but near.
I will try do sell my domino 10 quickly because i know his price will fall down with competitor like the casio ^^.

when are these projectors coming to the USA? I'm ready to trade in my samsung P400. My samsung has worked great for 1.5 years. Time for 720p and more light.

No artefacts for me ! and i'm sensible to artefact rainbow. My friend who is sensible to artefact had seen one but, i don't know if it was true lol (he wanted to say things bad for this projector but he couldn't ^^). No problems like normal DLP low cost. It' a very good surprise because artefacts are a terrible problem for me normally.
I will post another pictures tomorrow, it's 12:14 am here now, i go sleeping.

At lowest mode it's audible but low, and the projector is back of my sofa, back of my head.

My pictures are outdated because i have the new settings with results very good now, but my htc hd2 is not accurate to do representative pictures but i will do new tommorrow.

I've done video for you with my phone on utube and many pictures:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jRzQOMj8Lz4 in eco 1
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9fYD15pT-1g in eco 2
But it is difficult to see the difference eco1 and eco2 because of the phone. The phone 'calibrates' automatically best brightness for capture.

The mictures are in eco2 but the phone take picture much brighter than it is really. You need eco1 in reality to have this brightness.
Enjoy !

But in real life it is much better ... Watching tv in HD with the projector is amazing ^^

i hope these vertical lines comprised of red, blue and green, especially on fast cuts and movements, are artefacts of the cam recording and not of the projector

can you tell something about screendoor-effect?

i would project an image-size of 2,50 width and the viewing-distance would be 2m. on a complete white image projected ... are there any visible lines?

thanks and greetz

The cam recording is a phone, don't forget it !
No problems at all in real life, it's very very smooth and i don't see artefacts.

No problems for 2.5m diagonal for the casio. It's made to have big picture with little distance.

On the screen blue casio, there is nothing no visible lines. And whith white screen (before the beginning of 360's game for example, nothing).

Hi cfcmoon,
The videos look great and the fact that they were taken with a cell camera means they must look amazing in person.
Could you tell me the width and hight of your screen in those videos ?
Did you say 110-120inches diag in the post above I think?
Thanks for taking the time to post the pictures and videos, alot of people have been waiting to see these LED projectors in action.

You could try a black and white film, I think that is good for checking rainbows?

Yes
And now i see a television program in HD ^^, it's super smooth always and the colors with good settings are very good. The colors when you use for the first time the projector are ugly in comparison.

But if you want a silent projector, no, it's not the perfect projector. In low mode (eco2) the sound is low but there is sound, in average mode (eco1) i think it's between average/strong, en in full it's horrible.

For me it's the unique defect for this projector.
I'm used to domino 20 projector (with average/strong sound from the fan).
It depends on your feelings and what you can tolerate.

Worf (a well known french projector reviewer) will do a review with this projector quickly and he will give me the best settings for colors ^^.

Casio have the 'patent' the 'licence' i don't know the exact word in english, to do laser led projectors. The others will cry without this technology.

My friend see more rainbow effects than me, but i'm sensible to rainbows effects and it's very very rare with this projector, for me, i've see one in the afternoon (because i was searching to see rainbow effect). My friend could see different AEC but with the head shaking, in reality it's really not a problem with this projector. For me it's not noticeable.

No, the good settings is for colors.
Brightness is full/eco1/eco2 mode.
Of course there is the setting brightness 'software' also (i use brightness -20 contrast +17 always).
But i will have the perfect settings with the help of worf probe.

The best for me is eco1 with cinema mode and normal colors with Red -10 Green 0 Blue 50. But i'm sure best results can be possible but i don't have equipment to search perfect colors.

But with theses settings, the results are impressive, for now.

I'm not sure you understood my question.

Most lamp projectors come closest to achieving their brightness specifications with bad color.

When the colors are adjusted to be more accurate, the brightness may be half or less.

My question is, does the Casio have a similar loss in brightness?

Thanks

cfcmoon, how much did you pay for your XJ-A 240?

Does it have lens shift? And how do you mount the projector (or not)?

TIA

interesting that it's only guaranteed for 3 years or 6K hours. That is pathetic for something that suppose to last 20K hours.

Tho at least they give you the DB of fan modes and wattage usage. I guess you could buy one now from here for about 1500 bucks USD.

tho, you'd probably be much better off waiting for them to be sold in the USA.

It's always like this for projectors they guarantee 1/3 of the life time to avoid problems. Nothing pathetic
You can installing the projector with 'angle', i don't know to explain this in english, forgive me.

Just got mine today, sorry guys but this projector has nothing to do with home theater, too much light, too much noise, bad optic. Pass your way

2500 lumens but noise impossible to tolerate in full mode.
I think it's not a projector with quality colors like a DLP with lamp at the same price, but it is not awfull (for me) with the best settings.
It depends on what you want
