Mavs Take Third Straight
The Mavericks held on down the stretch Monday night to emerge with a 103-100 win in Game 5. With its third straight victory, Dallas took a 3-2 lead and became the first home team to win in the series. The Mavs led by eight entering the final quarter, but Houston rallied and missed a potential game-tying basket at the buzzer. Dirk Nowitzki led six Dallas players in double figures with 23 points and 13 rebounds. Jerry Stackhouse and Josh Howard scored 17 each.
