Lakers Drop Close One
Kwame Brown's dunk with 19.4 seconds left tied the score, but Houston's Tracy McGrady hit a driving layup with 0.3 ticks remaining to hand the Lakers a 76-74 loss on Sunday. Kobe Bryant scored 24 for Los Angeles, which led by as many as 12. The defeat was the Lakers' first in four games.

Primoz Brezec hit on 9-of-13 from the field.

Mike Bibby's jumper with 35.4 seconds remaining sent Monday's game into overtime, but Sacramento surrendered the first seven points of the extra session and fell 106-103 at Charlotte. Shareef Abdur-Rahim scored a season-high 32 points on 12-of-20 from the floor and Kevin Martin posted a career-best 19 to go with eight rebounds. Bonzi Wells left the game in the first quarter with a groin injury.

Billups hit 4-of-7 from downtown on Monday.

Damon Stoudamire nailed a step-back three with 4.6 ticks remaining in double overtime to tie the score, but Memphis surrendered a bucket with 0.3 on the clock and fell 106-104 to the Pistons on Monday. Mike Miller capped an 11-point fourth-quarter comeback with a trey and set up Pau Gasol's game-tying layup at the end of regulation. Gasol also sent it to a second OT with a thunderous one-handed dunk.

The Magic's six-game homestand tipped off Monday with a 92-90 loss to the Raptors. Orlando received double-digit scoring performances from six players, including Steve Francis, who led the pack with 20.

Bosh and Co. won their fourth road game of the season Monday night in Orlando.

The Raptors won on Monday, defeating Orlando 92-90. With Toronto clinging to a one-point lead, Morris Peterson scored the last of his 19 points, drilling a game-icing trey with 8.2 ticks left.
