J.R. Smith scored a season-high 26 points, and secured a career-high 10 rebounds as the Hornets never trailed in a 91-87 victory in Phoenix on Monday. Desmond Mason added 22 points and Chris Paul continued his splendid rookie campaign with 19 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and four steals. New Orleans/Oklahoma City shot 6-of-10 from 3-point range

The Clippers lost a tight one in overtime to San Antonio 95-87 on Tuesday. The Clippers received another standout performance from Elton Brand, who logged 24 points and 12 rebounds. Sam Cassell also had a double-double with 20 points and 10 boards, as well as Chris Kaman with 14 points and 13 rebounds.

Wells’ 3-Pointer Lifts Kings Past Wolves

Wells hit the buzzer-beater to sink the Wolves Tuesday.

Bonzi Wells hit a dramatic 3-pointer at the end of regulation to give Sacramento a 93-91 victory over Minnesota on Tuesday. Behind most of the game, the Kings received a spirited effort from Wells, who led the team with 20 points and seven rebounds. Shareef Abdur-Rahim added 19 points and Mike Bibby chipped in with 17. The Kings will take their three-game winning streak into Detroit Wednesday.

Lakers End Trip With Another Win
The Lakers concluded a successful six-game road trip with their second straight win, a 94-79 victory over the Grizzlies. Kobe Bryant scored 27 points to lead Los Angeles while Lamar Odom chipped in 14, missing just one of his six attempts from the floor. The Lakers finished their trip at 5-1 and return home to face the Washington Wizards on Friday night.
