Dirk Nowitzki and Josh Howard had outstanding performances and the Mavericks played nearly mistake-free basketball in a 95-88 win at Phoenix in Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals on Sunday. Nowitzki tallied 28 points and 17 rebounds, while Howard added 22 and 12. Dallas committed only five turnovers and outscored Phoenix 23-16 over the final 10 minutes. Miami Makes It 3-1
Dwyane Wade scored 12 of his 31 points in the fourth quarter - the fourth time he has topped 10 in the final period this series - and the HEAT ran away with a 89-78 home win in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Monday.

Mavericks Fall to Suns in Game 4
The Mavs will head home locked in a 2-2 with the Suns after falling 106-86 in Game 4 at Phoenix on Tuesday. Josh Howard posted 16 points and nine rebounds to pace Dallas, which trailed by five at the half and could never break even the rest of the way. Jason Terry and Adrian Griffin scored 13 apiece, while Dirk Nowitzki added 11.

HEAT Fall Short in Game 5
The HEAT trailed by just three midway through the fourth quarter, but couldn't maintain their momentum in a 91-78 loss at Detroit in Game 5 on Wednesday. Dwyane Wade led the way with 23 points and Shaquille O'Neal added 19 on 9-of-15 from the field.

Dirk's 50 Put Mavs On the Brink
Dirk Nowitzki scored 22 of his playoff career-high 50 points in the fourth quarter Thursday as the Mavericks moved within a game of The Finals with a 117-101 win over the Suns in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals. Nowitzki added 12 rebounds and Josh Howard chipped in with 23 points, while Josh Howard scored 16. Dallas can close out the series Saturday in Phoenix

HEAT Head to First Finals
Miami built a double-digit lead by halftime and never looked back in Friday's 95-78 Game 6 home win that clinched the Eastern Conference Finals over Detroit, four games to two. Shaquille O'Neal racked up 28 points, 16 rebounds and five blocks.

Mavs Win the West
Dallas overcame a 15-point second-half deficit to advance to its first NBA Finals in a 102-93 Game 6 win at Phoenix on Saturday. Dirk Nowitzki posted 24 points and 10 rebounds and Josh Howard collected 20 and 15. Jerry Stackhouse added 13 of his team's 19 points in the fourth period, as the Mavs outscored the Suns by 13 in the quarter.

Terry, Mavs Take Game 1
Jason Terry shot 13-for-18 on the way to 32 points, and the Mavericks outscored the Heat by seven over the last three minutes to secure a 90-80 Game 1 win Thursday at home at the American Airlines Center in the opening game of the 2006 NBA Finals. Dirk Nowitzki (16 points, 10 rebounds) and Josh Howard (10 points, 12 rebounds) both added double-doubles, and Jerry Stackhouse chipped in 13 points.

HEAT Rally for Game 3 Win
Dwyane Wade led the way as the HEAT rallied from a 13-point fourth-quarter deficit in Tuesday's 98-96 win over the Mavericks in Game 3 of The Finals. Wade scored 15 of his 42 in the final quarter and added 13 rebounds. Gary Payton put the HEAT up for good on a jumper with 9.3 seconds to play. The Heat will look to pull even as they host Game 4 on Thursday at 9 p.m. on ABC.

HEAT Tie Finals at Two
Dwyane Wade had his second straight huge game and Miami knotted the NBA Finals at 2-2 with Thursday's comfortable 98-74 Game 4 win over the visiting Mavericks. Wade carried over the momentum from Game 3 with 24 first-half points and finished with 36 and six rebounds.

Mavericks Drop Game 5 In OT
Devin Harris' halfcourt heave at the buzzer was off the mark and the Mavericks left with a 101-100 overtime loss to Miami in Game 5 of the NBA Finals on Sunday. Erick Dampier scored on a dunk with 10 seconds left in regulation off a pretty Dirk Nowitzki feed to put Dallas ahead before Dwyane Wade tied it up with a layup to force the extra session. Jason Terry led the Mavs with 35 points, Josh Howard notched 25 and 10 rebounds, and Nowitzki added 20 and eight. Trailing 3-2, Dallas will look to tie the series at three games apiece when it hosts Game 6 on Tuesday
