Grizzlies Win Fourth in a Row
Mike Miller bounced back from injury in a big way, scoring 25 points off the bench, as the Grizzlies raced out to a big first-half lead and never looked back in Friday's 91-69 home win over the Magic. Memphis led by 18 points after the first quarter and 23 at halftime. Bobby Jackson chipped in 13 points and every player in the Memphis lineup scored.

West’s Shot Lifts Hornets Over Sixers

Mason and the Hornets have won four of five.

The Hornets scored the final nine points Friday, pulling out an 88-86 win over the visiting Sixers. Desmond Mason knotted the game at 86 with a three-point play and a David West putback gave New Orleans/Oklahoma City the lead. West led the Hornets with 22 points and Chris Paul chipped in 16 points and nine assists. P.J. Brown scored 12 and pulled down 13 rebounds.

Jason Williams tallied 20 points and eight assists Friday.

Sacramento hung tough but could not overcome a hot shooting night by Miami and was dealt a 98-87 home loss on Friday. Brad Miller's 18 points led five Kings in double figures, and Shareef Abdur-Rahim added 14. Miller also tallied a game-high 15 rebounds for Sacramento

The Lakers led by eight heading into the final period but couldn't make the lead stand in Friday's 113-108 home loss to the Wolves. Lamar Odom had a fine all-around game, posting 24 points, eight assists and seven rebounds. Smush Parker added 22 points and Kobe Bryant scored 20 to go with nine rebounds and eight assists

Grizzlies Roll Rockets, Win Fifth Straight

Gasol and co. won their fifth straight on Saturday.

You will never find Ryan Bowen at the top of any statistical category this season. He’ll probably never lead the Rockets in points, rebounds, or assists in a single half, let alone a full game. But if you go beyond the box score, in between field goal percentage, blocks, or free throws made, you might find categories only coaches can see. Call them LB’s, FB’s, or maybe just HP’s. They may look like football positions, but loose balls, floor burns, and hustle plays are very much a part of basketball. A player doesn’t need great skill to excel in these areas, just desire and intensity, two qualities Bowen exudes on a nightly basis.
